Standard Insurance Company Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Standard Insurance Company data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Pension Benefit Information (PBI) is sending data breach notice letters to insureds and prospective insureds of Standard Insurance Company whose personal information was compromised in a data breach targeting a widely used file transfer platform, MOVEit. Discovered on May 31, 2023, the cyberattack reportedly exposed 308,072 individuals’ names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth. According to a notice provided to the Maine Attorney General, PBI is a third-party vendor for NTT DATA Americas, an IT service provider for Standard Insurance.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Standard Insurance Company to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
