Salus Group Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Salus Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Benefits Partner, LLC, an independent insurance agency operating as Salus Group, reported a data breach involving unauthorized access to an employee email account. In October 2024, suspicious activity was detected in the account, prompting security measures and an investigation with a third-party forensic firm. It was found that unauthorized access occurred for a period on October 9, 2024. While the investigation could not confirm specific emails viewed, a review identified that personal information may have been exposed.
The specific information compromised in the Benefits Partner data breach varied by individual but may have included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, health insurance details, and clinical or treatment information.
Salus Group said it began informing affected employer and insurance carrier clients beginning around March 27, 2025, and the company is sending direct notice via mail to individuals whose information was in the compromised email account and for whom contact information is available. For certain individuals, Salus Group may have received their personal information in providing services to their current or former employer or insurance carrier.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Salus Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
