MedEx Ambulance Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the MedEx Ambulance data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
MedEx Ambulance Security Incident: What Happened?
Medical Express Ambulance Inc., which does business as MedEx Ambulance, on April 14, 2025 announced a data breach potentially involving patient health and employee personal information.
On March 18, 2024, MedEx encountered a network disruption that impacted system functionality. The company responded by disconnecting network access and hiring a cybersecurity firm to investigate the breach. The investigation indicated that unauthorized acquisition of personal data might have occurred.
MedEx worked with a third-party vendor to analyze the compromised data. This process took time due to the complexity of the information. On March 19, 2025, MedEx had identified affected individuals to be notified.
The types of data potentially accessed in the MedEx Ambulance data breach include names, birth dates, demographic details, Social Security numbers, driver's license and state ID numbers, medical and financial information, health insurance details, usernames, passwords, and passport information. The data affected varies for each individual.
Medical Express Ambulance Service, which provides medical transportation service to the Chicago metropolitan area, reported that the incident impacted 118,418 individuals.
What You Can Do
If your information was exposed in the data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
