Behavioral Health Resources Security Incident: What Happened?
On April 16, 2025, Behavioral Health Resources of Olympia, Washington provided an updated notice regarding a data breach that reportedly impacted 50,083 individuals. The breach, detected on November 20, 2024, involved unauthorized access to the health provider's systems and certain personal information stored there.
The information compromised in the Behavioral Health Resources data breach varied by individual but may include names (including maiden names), addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, contact information, medical record and health plan beneficiary numbers, account numbers, certificate/license numbers, biometric and genetic data, photographs, birth and marriage certificates, tribal and government-issued IDs, taxpayer IDs, electronic signatures, financial institution names, medical billing details, medical information (such as diagnoses, treatment details, lab results, medication information and more), health insurance details, and other health-related information.
Behavioral Health Resources, which provides behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment across Thurston, Grays Harbor and Mason Counties in Washington, is notifying affected individuals for whom complete address information was available.
