USClaims Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the USClaims data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
USClaims Security Incident: What Happened?
US Claims Capital Inc., a pre-settlement financing firm that does business as USClaims, discovered suspicious activity within its network environment around January 7, 2025. Upon discovery, USClaims launched an inquiry into the incident, engaging legal counsel and third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate the full extent and nature of the breach.
On March 25, 2025, USClaims concluded a review of the potentially compromised data, finding that certain personal data may have been accessed or obtained by unauthorized parties as a result of the cybersecurity incident.
According to a report submitted to the Texas Attorney General, the US Claims Capital data breach exposed individuals’ names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license and government-issued ID numbers, financial information, and medical and health insurance information. A report to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation also indicates that credit/debit card numbers were exposed.
Personalized letters have been sent to victims detailing the specific data impacted for each person.
The incident reportedly affected 25,722 individuals.
What You Can Do
If your information was exposed in the data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force USClaims to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
