As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
St. Andrew's Resources for Seniors System has reported a data privacy incident potentially affecting the personal information of certain individuals. The organization, headquartered in the St. Louis area and specializing in assisted living, in-home care and rehabilitation services, discovered suspicious activity in its email environment on February 8, 2024. A subsequent investigation, aided by third-party forensic experts, revealed unauthorized access to certain employee email accounts. A review of the contents of the emails, which was completed on January 6, 2025, identified that potentially compromised information may include individuals' personal, health and/or financial data.
Specifically, information exposed in the St. Andrew's Resources for Seniors System data breach may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license or other government-issued ID numbers, payment card and financial account information, health insurance details and medical information. According to a report made to the Maine Attorney General's office, 16,869 people are affected by the data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force St. Andrew's Resources to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
