Cabot Medical Care Security Incident: What Happened?
After Cabot Medical Care experienced a network disruption on January 26, 2025, the Cabot, Arkansas clinic engaged cybersecurity experts to assist in determining the scope of the incident. Through this investigation, Cabot Medical Care discovered on February 3, 2025 that certain files may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized party between January 25 and January 26, 2025.
Following the initial investigation, Cabot Medical Care conducted a review of the affected files and determined in March 2025 that the personal information of current and former patients was included in the compromised data. The Cabot Medical Care data breach may have exposed names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, diagnosis or treatment details and other health-related information. The clinic stated in an online data breach notice that it has "no reason to believe" the data breach affected its electronic medical records system.
On April 9, 2025, notification letters were mailed to potentially affected individuals with available mailing addresses.
