Santander Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Santander data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Santander reported a data breach where an unauthorized party accessed a third-party database used by one of the bank's affiliates between late April and early May 2024. The breach was discovered on May 10, 2024. An investigation revealed that the compromised records included employees' personal information such as names, Social Security numbers, and bank account details used for direct deposit for payroll.
According to a notice provided to the Maine attorney general's office, a total of 12,786 individuals were affected by the Santander data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Santander to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
