Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the MESVision data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Medical Eye Services, Inc., a vision benefits management company that does business as MESVision, has reported a security breach involving the personal information of individuals enrolled in vision plans it manages. The breach occurred after an unauthorized party exploited a vulnerability in the MOVEit file-transfer software used by the company.
Upon discovering the breach on August 23, 2023, MESVision shut down the server and launched an investigation. It was determined that the unauthorized party had accessed and extracted information from the server on May 28 and May 31, 2023.
The breach potentially impacted 346,828 vision plan participants, exposing personal information such as their names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, addresses, subscriber/member IDs, and policy, group and claim numbers.
