Arkansas Heart Hospital Security Incident: What Happened?
Arkansas Heart Hospital, based in Little Rock with 30 locations throughout the state, is working to notify patients of a data breach involving unauthorized access to information within electronic medical records.
On March 15, 2025, a vendor informed the cardiac care provider about a cybersecurity incident affecting data processed during its transition to a new electronic medical record system. The data breach did not compromise Arkansas Heart Hospital’s internal systems, but rather one or more systems used by the vendor.
Unauthorized access occurred between January 22 and February 20, 2025, and patients who received care at the hospital's facilities from January 1, 2022 to January 31, 2025 may be impacted, according to an online notice about the data breach. Potentially compromised information involved in the data breach impacting Arkansas Heart Hospital includes names, contact details, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, treatment details, prescription information, health insurance information, maiden name, ethnicity, marital status and more.
Arkansas Heart Hospital is collaborating with third-party specialists and law enforcement to investigate the incident. The hospital will notify impacted individuals by mail once address details are confirmed.
