MassMutual Ascend Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the MassMutual Ascend data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
In July 2023, MassMutual Ascend was informed by Pension Benefit Information, LLC (PBI), a third-party vendor, that its customer data was accessed without authorization as part of a broader security breach involving the MOVEit file transfer application. Specifically, PBI reported that personal information belonging to customers of MassMutual Ascend and its subsidiaries, Annuity Investors Life and Manhattan National Life, was downloaded by a third party on May 29 and May 30, 2023.
Impacted information includes individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, genders, zip codes, and policy numbers.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force MassMutual Ascend to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
