Futurity First Insurance Group Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Futurity First Insurance Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Futurity First Insurance Group (FFIG) recently notified consumers of a data breach involving unauthorized access to certain FFIG email accounts. This suspicious activity prompted an investigation, which concluded that there had been unauthorized access to three employee and six independent agent accounts in November 2023, according to a report submitted to the Maine Attorney General's Office. The investigation revealed that some emails or attachments contained sensitive personal information, though it remains unclear whether they were accessed or acquired by the unauthorized party.
A report submitted to the Texas Attorney General's Office indicates that the compromised data includes names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial details, and medical and health insurance information.
The Futurity First Insurance Group data breach was first reported in July 2024, but additional reports were submitted to several states' attorneys general in late August.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Futurity First Insurance Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
