Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Familylinks data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Familylinks Inc., a provider of community, social and behavioral programs in western Pennsylvania, has experienced a data breach affecting personal and protected health information. The organization discovered suspicious activity in an employee's email account on May 3, 2024 and launched an investigation with the help of cybersecurity experts. The investigation revealed unauthorized access to certain emails and attachments on that date. A review of compromised data was completed by October 3, 2024, and Familylinks began notifying impacted individuals via mail.
A notice posted online about the Familylinks data breach states that information compromised may include names; driver's license, state ID or federal ID numbers; birth dates; Social Security numbers; medical details such as diagnoses and treatments; and health insurance information, including policy numbers.
