Delaware Life Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Delaware Life data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Pension Benefit Information, LLC (PBI), a vendor of Delaware Life Insurance Company, has sent notice to the insurer’s policy holders and contract holders whose private information was exposed during a massive data breach that impacted the MOVEit file-transfer service used by PBI. Information compromised in the breach, which occurred on May 29 and 30, 2023, reportedly included consumers’ names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and contract or policy numbers.
In a letter to the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, Delaware Life noted that this incident is unrelated to a previous ransomware attack reported by the company on July 28, 2023.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Delaware Life to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
