Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Varsity Brands data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Academic apparel company Varsity Brands has reported a data breach involving unauthorized access to its systems on May 24, 2024. Upon discovering the unusual activity, the company shut down the affected systems, launched an investigation with the help of external cybersecurity experts, and notified law enforcement authorities. The Varsity Brands data breach involved a limited set of company files that contained the sensitive personal information of 65,669 individuals.
According to a report provided to the Texas attorney general, the compromised data includes individuals' names, Social Security numbers, driver's license and government-issued ID numbers, financial information, medical and health insurance details, and birth dates.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Varsity Brands to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
