SRP Federal Credit Union Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the SRP Federal Credit Union data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
SRP Federal Credit Union recently experienced a data breach involving unauthorized access to its computer systems between September 5, 2024, and November 4, 2024. The SRP Federal Credit Union data breach potentially exposed sensitive personal information of 240,742 individuals.
A report provided to the Texas Attorney General's Office indicates that the compromised data includes names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial information, and dates of birth.
Upon detecting suspicious network activity, SRP initiated its incident response protocol, notified law enforcement, and engaged a forensic security firm to investigate and secure its systems. SRP stated in a notice sent to affected individuals that the breach did not impact the credit union's online banking system or core processing system.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force SRP Federal Credit Union to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
