Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Ethos data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Southwest Boston Senior Services, which does business as Ethos, experienced a data breach on November 18, 2023. The unauthorized access resulted in personal information being compromised, including names, addresses, medical insurance information, health and treatment details, and, in some cases, Social Security numbers.
According to a data breach announcement posted on Ethos' website and a notice sent to the Maine attorney general's office, the breach affected 13,418 individuals, including those who received services from the nonprofit and potentially some employees. People whose information may have been impacted by the Southwest Boston Senior Services data breach are being notified by mail.
Ethos is a nonprofit organization that provides home and community-based care, including meal delivery, to people in need in the Boston area.
