Palo Verde Hospital Security Incident: What Happened?
The Palo Verde Hospital data breach was discovered on March 6, 2025, when the facility experienced disruption in several of its information technology systems. Palo Verde Hospital, located in Blythe, California, secured its affected networks and launched an investigation in cooperation with third-party forensic specialists. Authorities were also notified about the incident.
The ongoing investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed certain hospital systems between March 3 and March 6, 2025. The intruder gained access to files containing personal information, potentially including patients’ names, demographic details, contact information, Social Security numbers, medical record and patient account numbers, birth dates, treatment and diagnosis details, prescription data, provider names, service dates and health insurance information. Additionally, some breached records contain financial account numbers and bank routing numbers.
Palo Verde Hospital began notifying affected patients by mail on April 24, 2025.
