J.P. Morgan Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the J.P. Morgan data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
J.P. Morgan recently began notifying individuals affected by a data breach incident in which unauthorized system users accessed and viewed personal and financial information related to plans for which the banking giant is the benefit payments agent.
According to the company's data breach notice, a software issue allowed three system users employed by J.P. Morgan customers or their agents to run reports that contained "plan participant information that they were not entitled to see."
The reports were run between August 26, 2021 and February 23, 2024 and included information belonging to 451,809 individuals. Information compromised in the J.P. Morgan data breach includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, payment and deduction amounts, and bank routing and account numbers for those using direct deposit.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force J.P. Morgan to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
