Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Heart South Cardiovascular Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On May 30, 2024, Heart South Cardiovascular Group discovered unusual activity on its network and launched an investigation with the help of third-party specialists. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized party accessed certain information on the Alabama-based medical practice’s network between May 29 and May 30, 2024.
According to an online notice of the incident, the Heart South Cardiovascular Group data breach may have impacted individuals’ first and last names along with one or more of the following: address, date of birth, driver’s license number, Social Security number, diagnosis/condition, lab results, medications, and other treatment information. The company is currently obtaining address information for potentially impacted individuals and will send written notices to those for whom addresses are available.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Heart South Cardiovascular Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
