Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Gryphon Healthcare.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Gryphon Healthcare, LLC, a clinician-owned revenue cycle and management services company, has announced a data security breach affecting the personal and protected health information of 393,358 individuals. The incident was discovered on August 13, 2024 and involved a security lapse at a partner organization that Gryphon Healthcare provides medical billing services for. Consequently, certain files containing information on patients for whom Gryphon Healthcare provided these services may have been exposed during the unauthorized access.
During an investigation completed by September 3, 2024, Gryphon identified those impacted. Notification letters were sent to those with available mailing addresses beginning October 11, 2024.
Affected current and former patients may have had their names, birth dates, addresses, Social Security numbers and health insurance information exposed. Medical information put at risk by the data breach affecting Gryphon Healthcare includes dates of service, diagnoses, treatment information, provider details, medical record numbers and prescriptions.
