EdisonLearning Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the EdisonLearning data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
EdisonLearning, a school management and virtual learning provider, has recently revealed that an unauthorized actor breached its computer systems between March 7 and March 17, 2023 and downloaded certain files from its network. The stolen information may include the names and Social Security numbers of individuals associated with the company.
EdisonLearning says that on April 14, 2023, it sent preliminary notice to current employees that may have been impacted by the incident. The company began mailing written notice of the incident to other affected individuals on February 21, 2024.
According to TheJournal.com, a cybergang known as the Royal Ransomware has claimed responsibility for the attack and reportedly threatened to upload 20GB of stolen data—including information belonging to students—to its dark web data leak site on April 26, 2023.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force EdisonLearning to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
