Carlos Aguirre et al v. A & E Plumbing Corp. et al
Filed: October 31, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv6086
Four former A & E Plumbing Corp. employees claim they're owed unpaid minimum and overtime wages.
New York
Four plaintiffs have put their names on a proposed collective action in which they claim defendants A & E Plumbing Corp. and A & E Plumbing and Heating Corp. failed to pay proper wages for high-scale residential and commercial building projects in New York and New Jersey.
The complaint says the plaintiffs spent the majority of their time handling manual labor jobs, including fixing broken pipes, sinks and toilets. According to the suit, the plaintiffs and similarly situated workers consistently put in upward of 40 hours per week for a daily pay rate that ranged from $100 to $150. The lawsuit alleges the plaintiffs’ daily pay rates did not vary based on the number of hours worked per week, which sometimes exceeded 50 hours.
All told, the case alleges the plaintiffs were denied overtime pay and were paid below the statutory hourly minimum wage without receiving proper wage notices at any time during their employment.
