New York
Bronx restaurant Palace of Japan and its owner find themselves as defendants in a former delivery driver’s lawsuit in which the man claims he was not paid lawful wages.
The case says the plaintiff worked 28 hours each week from April 2016 to October 2018, during which time he was paid less than the federal and state minimum wage at $7 per hour. Moreover, in alleged violation of state law, the man says he was deprived of spread-of-hours pay for shifts exceeding 10 hours and never received a paystub or wage notice indicating his rate of pay.
