Espinoza, et al. v. Dough Joe LLC, et al.
Filed: October 15, 2018 ◆§ 1:18-cv-05745-ENV-RML
Two former employees of Astoria restaurant Hinomaru Ramen have filed suit over alleged wage violations.
Dough Joe LLC and the company’s CEO, who operate Astoria restaurant Hinomaru Ramen, are the defendants in a proposed collective action filed by two former employees who allege they did not receive lawful wages.
The plaintiffs behind the case allegedly worked in the positions of dishwasher, cook, food preparer and kitchen worker. The employees claim they regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week for fixed salaries that failed to meet minimum, overtime and spread-of-hours wage requirements. Moreover, the suit charges the defendants violated New York law by depriving the workers of accurate wage notices and paystubs.
