How Much Could My IGK Settlement Payout Be?
Eligible class members who file a valid claim with proof of purchase may receive a full refund for each qualifying IGK product they bought. Consumers who file a valid claim without proof of purchase may be entitled to $4 for each eligible product they bought, capped at five items.

When Will I Get Paid?
The court will decide whether to grant final approval to the IGK class action settlement at a hearing scheduled for November 19, 2024. Payments to eligible consumers will be issued if the judge approves the deal and after any appeals are resolved.
How Did We Get Here?
The settlement follows in the wake of a recent analysis by independent laboratory Valisure, which revealed numerous dry shampoo products across a variety of brands, including IGK, contained unsafe levels of benzene.
According to the lab’s citizen petition, filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2022, certain IGK test samples indicated the presence of the cancer-causing substance in amounts over the FDA’s limit of two parts per million for consumer drug products.
Was There an IGK Dry Shampoo Recall?
No. However, although the IGK dry shampoos at issue have not been recalled, a number of other brands have recalled their products since Valisure published its findings in 2022.
