Siguenza Rodriguez et al v. Whitestone Marble & Granite Corp. et al
Filed: July 25, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv4223
Two men who worked as a chauffeur and polisher, respectively, for Whitestone Marble & Granite Corp. claim they're owed unpaid minimum and overtime wages.
The first of the two named plaintiffs claims he worked as a chauffeur for the defendants’ Brooklyn construction business and frequently put in more than 73 hours per week for a fixed weekly salary of $750. The man argues that he wasn’t paid at least the minimum hourly wage for all hours worked and didn’t receive premium time-and-a-half overtime pay for the hours that exceeded 40 each week.
The second plaintiff, a polisher, alleges he was subject to similar wage violations, adding that the defendants failed to pay him any wages at all for approximately six hours of work.
Moreover, the lawsuit claims that the defendants failed to provide employees with proper meal and rest breaks in addition to taking improper deductions from their paychecks for lost or damaged equipment.
