Filed: October 12, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-05985
Vanessa’s Dumpling House Inc. and three individuals who control the business have been named as defendants in a proposed collective action filed by a former cook who claims she is owed unpaid wages.
Vanessa’s Dumpling House Inc. and three individuals who control the business have been named as defendants in a proposed collective action filed by a former dumpling cook who worked at their Brooklyn Chinese restaurant between September 2012 and June 2013. The plaintiff says she regularly worked at least 69 hours per week without receiving proper overtime or spread-of-hours wages. According to the suit, the defendants failed to accurately record her hours and paid her a fixed monthly rate regardless of how much time she spent working. The complaint further argues that the plaintiff and similarly situated employees were not provided with wage notices and statements in accordance with the New York Labor Law.
