Cauley et al v. United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arkansas Inc et al
Filed: November 13, 2018 ◆§ 4:18cv845
Two plaintiffs have filed suit against United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arkansas, Inc. and its CEO over alleged wage abuses.
Arkansas
Two plaintiffs have filed a proposed collective and class action in which they claim that United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arkansas, Inc. and its CEO failed to pay proper wages.
The plaintiffs were employed by the defendants as healthcare workers responsible for providing companionship services to elderly, ill or disabled clients, the suit says. The workers allege that although their schedules fluctuated from week to week, they regularly put in over 40 hours—and sometimes as many as 60 hours—each week. According to the lawsuit, the defendants, with “reckless disregard” of federal and state labor law, paid the plaintiffs and similarly situated workers a day rate without time-and-a-half compensation for overtime work.
