Filed: July 27, 2017 ◆§ 3:17-cv-00191-DPM
Two former law enforcement officers claim Leachville, AR owes unpaid overtime wages.
Two law enforcement officers are the plaintiffs in a proposed collective action against Leachville, Arkansas that alleges the city failed to pay its police proper overtime wages within the last three years. The plaintiffs, who were respectively employed by Leachville as a K-9 handler and lieutenant until June 2017, claim they were routinely required to work more than 40 hours per week but were not allowed to report all hours worked on their timesheets.
“[The plaintiffs] were specifically instructed not to report their hours worked, including overtime, and instead were told to write ‘salary’ on a timesheet to submit for weekly payment,” the case claims.
The lawsuit wages Leachville improperly classified the plaintiffs and similarly situated workers as salaried employees exempt from Fair Labor Standards Act overtime requirements.
