True Blue Home Health Care, Corp. and an individual with control of the business are on the receiving end of a former employee’s lawsuit that takes issue with the defendants’ pay practices. The plaintiff says she worked as a home health aide and housekeeper, responsible for assisting elderly or special needs individuals in their daily tasks. According to the complaint, she was employed by the defendants between July and September 2017 and was paid $10.00 per hour. She claims, however, that due to being short-staffed, the defendants required her to work 24 hours per day, Thursdays through Tuesdays, and did not pay her for all the hours she worked, including straight-time and overtime.
The case argues that the plaintiff is owed approximately $1,803.20 in unpaid minimum wages and $5,261.28 in unpaid overtime, including liquidated damages.
The plaintiff allegedly complained to the individual defendant regarding the company’s supposedly unlawful pay practices and was fired in retaliation about a month later, the suit says.
