Tapia v. Glaze Donuts Corporation et al
Filed: April 27, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv8517
The operators of three Glaze Donuts locations across Northern NJ allegedly failed to pay overtime to a fmr. employee who worked 60-70 hours per week.
The operators of three Glaze Donuts locations across Northern New Jersey are among the defendants in a proposed collective action filed over alleged violations of state and federal labor laws.
The lawsuit – which names as defendants Glaze Donuts Corporation, Glaze Artisan Donuts LLC, Glaze West Caldwell LLC and one individual – outlines the plaintiff’s claim that he worked between 60 to 70 hours per week without being paid proper time-and-a-half overtime. The man alleges that during his two separate tenures with the defendants – from October 2014 through June 2016, and from June through November 2017 – he worked six or seven days per week, and often more than 10 hours per day, as a doughnut maker and cleaner. Further, the complaint says the plaintiff received no wages at all for his final two weeks of work.
