A proposed class action filed in late-July accusing Suntrust Bank of wage violations has been removed to Florida federal court.
The plaintiff worked as a teller for the defendant from March 2008 to February 2017, during which time she was paid an hourly rate between $18.22 and $19.26, the complaint says. From July 2015 to February 2017, the former employee claims she worked between four and seven hours of overtime each week without proper time-and-a-half compensation. The case argues that the bank “showed reckless disregard of the provisions of the FLSA [Fair Labor Standards Act] concerning the payment of overtime wages.”
