Steps in Home Care Inc. is facing a former employee’s class and collective action that claims the defendant failed to pay her any wages for some of the hours she worked. According to the suit, the plaintiff was employed as a home health aide and worked approximately 144 hours per week. She says her employer raised her hourly wage from $9.00 to $10.76 per hour in January 2016, but failed to pay her for the weekly hours she worked beyond 78. The suit argues that she is owed minimum and overtime wages for about 66 hours of work per week between June 2015 and November 2017.
