Singh Farm Corp. and an individual owner are facing claims that they violated various provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York state law by failing to pay their employees proper wages and provide wage documents. An employee of the defendants has filed a proposed collective action against them, alleging that he worked between 66 and 77 hours per week and was never paid overtime or spread-of-hours wages. Instead, he supposedly received a fixed weekly salary regardless of how many hours he worked. Additionally, the plaintiff argues that he was not provided with required wage statements and notices that informed him of his recorded hours, rate of pay, and his rights under federal law.
