A wage and hour lawsuit filed against Monro Muffler Brake, Inc. in October 2018 has been removed to federal court in Florida.
The suit says the defendant operates The Tire Choice & Total Car Care, an auto repair shop where the plaintiff worked as an hourly paid service technician. The man alleges he was required to stay at the shop after clocking out to “close out paperwork” and lock up, resulting in 15 to 20 minutes of unpaid work each day. According to the complaint, the plaintiff’s off-the-clock duties pushed his work hours over 40 each week, time for which he did not receive proper time-and-a-half wages.
