Sandoval v. J.A. Security Special Services Llc et al
Filed: May 24, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv22079
J.A. Security Special Services faces a proposed class action that alleges the company engages in unlawful payroll practices.
J.A. Security Special Services LLC and an individual owner/manager are the defendants in a proposed class action suit that alleges the company engages in unlawful payroll practices. The plaintiff, who was employed as a security guard by the defendants, claims he never received his wages in a timely manner and was regularly paid late and in partial payments. The plaintiff is also suing for allegedly unpaid minimum and overtime wages, as well as retaliatory damages for being fired after complaining about his lack of payment, the suit says.
“[The plaintiff] is not in possession of time and payment records, but he estimates that Defendants did not pay him for approximately 161 accumulated overtime hours, at any rate, not even the minimum wage rate,” the complaint reads.
The suit seeks compensation for the plaintiff and any similarly situated current or former employee of the defendants who worked more than 40 hours during one or more weeks after September 2012 without being paid proper overtime wages.
