A former Roof Depot USA, LLC employee has filed suit against the company and its owner in which he seeks to recover allegedly unpaid overtime wages.
The plaintiff put in 73 hours each week as a “regular worker” at the company from November 2017 to November 2018, according to the complaint. The man alleges the defendants “refused” to pay proper overtime wages, paying him instead an hourly rate of $9.50 for all time worked. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the case argues, the plaintiff should have been compensated at a time-and-a-half rate for hours worked in excess of 40 each week.
