The company that operates Queens, New York Mediterranean restaurant BZ Grill and two individuals face a proposed collective action.
The company that operates Queens, New York Mediterranean restaurant BZ Grill and two individuals face a proposed collective action filed by a former dishwasher and porter who claims he typically worked 60 to 66 hours per week without proper wages. The 18-page complaint states the plaintiff was employed by defendant Melouta Corp. from February 2016 through June 2017. The man claims he was paid a fixed weekly salary that did not vary when he was required to work longer than his scheduled shift times, which the case says happened almost daily. Further, the defendants allegedly never granted the plaintiff meal or rest breaks during his employment, nor provided the man with a way to accurately keep track of his work hours.
