In a proposed class and collective action filed in Pennsylvania federal court, a former McDonald’s employee claims she is owed unpaid minimum and overtime wages.
Filed against H & J Restaurant Management, Inc., which operates at least three McDonald’s locations in southeastern Pennsylvania, the lawsuit alleges that the defendant failed to pay employees for all hours worked. The plaintiff says her employer altered her time records to reflect that she worked fewer hours than she actually logged and frequently required her to work during unpaid breaks without appropriate compensation.
Moreover, the case takes issue with the defendant’s alleged practice of only paying employees overtime wages when they worked more than 80 hours over a two-week period instead of more than 40 hours in one week.
