The owning and operating entities of New York City’s A & E Real Estate are the defendants in a proposed class action over alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Filed in New York, the 23-page complaint lists the below as defendants:
- -A & E Real Estate Holdings LLC
- -A & E Real Estate Management LLC
- -A & E Properties I MGMT LLC
- -Washington Heights II MGMT LLC
- -Douglas Eisenberg, owner
- -John Arrillaga Jr., owner
The plaintiff, who was employed by the defendants from 1991 through the end of 2016, claims he worked long days as a superintendent regularly totaling more than 40 hours per week, yet was allegedly not paid proper minimum, overtime, or spread-of-hours wages in violation of federal and state labor laws. On top of this, the plaintiff also claims he was not paid when he was required to work on special projects outside of his regular work schedule.
