New York
Our Neighborhood Spanish Restaurant Corp. and an individual owner are facing a former employee’s claims that the defendants’ pay practices failed to comply with federal and state law. The plaintiff says he was responsible for food preparation at the restaurant between August 2016 and February 2018 and wasn’t paid proper minimum, overtime, or spread-of-hours wages. According to the suit, the man worked 12-hour shifts six days per week and was paid a weekly salary of $480.00 – an amount that allegedly didn’t include premium pay and fell below the minimum hourly rate when divided by his hours worked.
