Beachcomber Investments Corp. and Alquimia Hospitality Group, LLC join two individuals as defendants in a lawsuit filed in Florida by a former housekeeper who claims she routinely worked in excess of 40 hours per week without appropriate overtime pay. According to the complaint, the defendants collectively own and operate the Leslie Hotel, Nassau Suite Hotel, Beachcomber Hotel and Shepley Hotel in Miami-Dade County. The plaintiff was allegedly paid $10.50 per hour and claims that while she was paid some overtime wages, the defendants manipulated her work records to show she worked fewer overtime hours than she actually put in.
The complaint states the plaintiff is owed a little more than $6,000 in supposedly unpaid overtime.
