Mendez Gutierrez v. Eltell
Filed: December 26, 2017 ◆§ 1:17cv10088
Per a lawsuit, The Big Slice of NY (formerly Bravo Pizza) allegedly failed to pay a cashier proper minimum, overtime and spread-of-hours wages.
The entity that runs limited-service pizzeria The Big Slice of NY (formerly Bravo Pizza) is on the receiving end of a proposed collective action filed by a former cashier who alleges she’s owed unpaid minimum, overtime and spread-of-hours wages. The plaintiff, who worked for defendant Mohammad Basel Eltell from June 2010 through January 2017, claims she worked between 48 and 55 hours per week without proper compensation – or any wages at all for her final seven days of employment.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff also was never reimbursed by the defendant after spending roughly $120 on a mandatory work uniform. Rounding out the document is the claim that the defendant also failed to post Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law notices explaining to employees their rights under state and federal laws.
