Operating Company of Coppola's West Hit with Unpaid Overtime Action

Six former employees have put their names on a proposed collective action that claims Sal 79 Associates, Inc., which does business as Coppola’s West restaurant in New York City, and the company’s owner failed to pay proper overtime wages. The plaintiffs claim they worked between 60 and 72 hours per week during their respective employment tenures without being paid time-and-a-half hourly overtime for all hours worked over 40. Further, the men claim they were required to clock out for a 30-minute meal break each day, yet made to continue working during these ostensible “breaks” without pay.
