A new class action out of New York against China Chalet claims the restaurant failed to pay workers the appropriate minimum and overtime wages.
A new class action out of New York against China Chalet claims the restaurant failed to pay workers the appropriate minimum and overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Filed by a former dishwasher and food preparer, the lawsuit claims the plaintiff regularly worked more than 40 hours each week without receiving the minimum wage, overtime and spread-of-hours pay for shifts in which he worked longer than 10 hours. Court documents say the plaintiff was never required to keep track of his time worked and was not given any document or statement account for his hours worked or rate of pay.
