Filed: March 29, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv2799
An employee of Easy Shopping has filed suit against the New York City department store’s owners and operators, claiming the defendants don’t pay him in accordance with state and federal law.
An employee of Easy Shopping has filed suit against the New York City department store’s owners and operators, claiming the defendants don’t pay him in accordance with state and federal law. Specifically, the man alleges he typically works over 60 hours per week as a general assistant/keeper without receiving proper minimum, overtime, and spread-of-hours wages. According to the case, the defendants pay the plaintiff a fixed weekly salary of $450 that never varies, even when he is required to work additional hours beyond his scheduled shifts. The man’s salary allegedly doesn’t include premium time-and-a-half wages and, when divided by his hours worked, falls below the required minimum wage.
The suit further claims the defendants don’t provide the plaintiff with wage notices and statements in accordance with state law.
