According to the case, the defendants operate over 40 long-term healthcare facilities in the tri-state area, including Pennsylvania’s Cheswick Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, where the plaintiff has worked since 2013. The suit says the woman regularly clocks over 40 hours each week for an hourly rate of $22. Despite being required to use a time-keeping system, the plaintiff claims her paystubs often reflect less time than she actually works and short her on wages. Additionally, the nurse alleges she is paid at her regular rate for overtime hours that should be compensated at a time-and-a-half rate.
The Cheswick Rehabilitation and Wellness Center lawsuit notes that registered nurses who also worked for the defendants in Pennsylvania filed a lawsuit citing similar allegations in February 2018. Still, the case asserts that the defendants’ alleged practice of falsifying records and shorting workers on wages has continued to take place throughout their 40+ facilities.
