Bonima Oil Corp., which operates as Shell Gas Station in Miami, and the company’s owner are facing a lawsuit in which a former employee alleges she clocked 52 hours each week without appropriate overtime wages.
From October 2017 to November 2018, the plaintiff worked as a cashier/attendant for an average hourly rate $9.50, according to the case. The suit claims that while the woman was compensated for some overtime work, she was not paid at all for five hours of closing duties, which included counting money and preparing the gas station for the next employee.
