UCI Kitchen & Bath, Inc. and two individuals who control the business are facing a proposed collective action that claims they failed to pay their employees proper overtime wages. The plaintiffs in the case – two former employees who worked as a granite polisher and marble fabricator, respectively – say they regularly worked 55 hours per week for the custom countertop business without receiving time-and-a-half overtime pay for the hours they worked above 40. The lawsuit estimates that they are owed a total of $67,830 in unpaid wages and liquidated damages.
